Little Words

It’s the little words we use that mean so much. I, me, we, you, and us are words that roll off our tongues so easy but they convey so much. Sometimes we’re consumed with what “I and me” want. I want to do this or that. I want you to do things my way. Why is everybody always picking on me? Why does everything always happen to me? I remember talking with an a gal I knew on our front porch. We heard the screech of brakes and turned our head in time to see a car hit our neighbors daughter on her bike. It was her birthday and she was riding her new bike while eating a piece of birthday cake. She flew threw the air sitting on her bike and landed across the street just missing a fire hydrant. The gal we were talking to blurted out “why did I have to see that?” She quickly realized what she said and felt foolish. We ran over to the girl along with everyone from five houses. She was hurt but after several months fully recovered. But don’t we all tend to turn off the bad news because we are just tired of hearing it? Another accident, murder, or tragic situation is more than we want to see. We weary of bad news. Wouldn’t we each be better off putting ourselves into the lives of those that suffer from these events? We could pray for them, assist the widows that hurt so much, or in short do our best to supply the needs of others and forget how it effects “I”. Some do those things but it would be a far different world if many did it. We can’t prevent all bad news but we can do our best to have better marriages and relationships. Love makes the world go round or maybe love makes it worth living this life.

America Great Again

There is some talk of making America great again. I know what everyone is after, a good job that pays well, safe streets, a bank account that paid interest, you know, some predictable hope. But making America great requires something else. We need the ten commandments so at least we’ve been told it’s wrong to steal, kill, lie, and not covet another persons property. And yes, we need the commandments about God too. That way we know that we never really get away with anything because one day we’ll stand before our maker and give an account of our life. We’ve got to be ashamed of aborting every fourth child, of paying taxes to support a company that chops up their little bodies for fun and profit. We’ve got to turn our backs on Hollywood and all the other promoters of smut. And how about turning off the mesmerizing phones, TV, computers, and spend some time with our children. America needs redemption but to be redeemed we need to want to be. And it all starts with me. Will you join me and turn from whatever keeps you from serving God with your whole heart and loving your neighbor as yourself? Come on, His yolk is easy.

1984

I wonder if the leftists know that Orwell meant 1984 as a warning and not a guide book. Here’s a couple of quotes from that timeless book.

“The Party seeks power entirely for its own sake. We are not interested in the good of others; we are interested solely in power, pure power.”
“Power is in tearing human minds to pieces and putting them together again in new shapes of your own choosing.”
“Power is not a means; it is an end. One does not establish a dictatorship in order to safeguard a revolution; one makes the revolution in order to establish the dictatorship. The object of persecution is persecution. The object of torture is torture. The object of power is power”

So thus is an introduction to wisdom, that is to understand the power of the state is only for its own benefit. Freedom of thought, speech, property and religion are the only stumbling blocks to totalitarians. These control freaks are your enemy; they just seem like friends because they have a knack for getting people all excited about silly issues. That dedication to the elite will remain. When the freebies run out they have scapegoats lined up to heap the blame on. Right now we have the internet so the truth can be found. But that little man in the white house is giving control of the internet to the U.N. Russia and others are already planning a system like China has. Then the following quote from 1984 will make sense.

“For, after all, how do we know that two and two make four? Or that the force of gravity works? Or that the past is unchangeable? If both the past and the external world exist only in the mind, and if the mind itself is controllable – what then?”
