For The Sake of Christ

We are brothers and sisters of Jesus Christ if we are born again. Jesus told Pilot “No man taketh it (His life) from me, but I lay it down of myself. I have power to lay it down, and I have power to take it again. This commandment have I received of my Father”. We learn from the book of Job that Satan must have permission to do anything to one of God’s own. In Romans 8:36 it says “For Your sake we are killed all day long;
We are accounted as sheep for the slaughter.” Once you become a Christian you have the privilege of laying your life down. We don’t have the power to take our life up again; we need Christ to raise us up.

The Love of Money

The Bible says the love of money is the root of all evil. Money isn’t evil; it’s loving it that’s the problem. We’re supposed to love God with all of our heart and conform our mind to making that possible. So loving anything more than God is rejection of Him. If one looks around it’s easy to see that mankind loves most things more than God. Houses, cars, children, grandchildren, politicians, entertainers, sports, or just about anything including literal garbage. However there is one thing most men love more than anything else and it’s not even something we really understand. It’s our penis. Men do some truly atrocious things for money but what men do to satisfy that “thing” is beyond the pale. Sex crimes are brutal. We all witness daily reporting of heinous sex acts carried out on helpless men, women, and children. There’s so much of it that our minds have become numb to the devastation this brings to our world. There is this rant by the perpetrators that we don’t want the state or the church in our bedrooms. Sex like everything else these days is some kind of right and nobody should stand in the way of sexual preference. The problem lies in the fact that there are too many consenting adults (that’s most of us). Satisfying your penis trumps everything else. No constraints are the gospel of the day whether straight or of other orientation. This vile love of sex permeates all people no matter what position they attain. From the local pimp to the highest office in the land, we are all corrupt. There is none righteous, no not one. We can not save ourselves. We need a savior to save us from ourselves, from doing things our own selfish way. I don’t want to end up like Lot, vexed daily by what my neighbors doing. Following Christ will put us more and more at odds with the world and that’s what we should make sure we do. If we love the world and the things of this world we are pleasing ourselves. God made everything including us for His pleasure, not ours. Should we enjoy life? Yes; but Jesus gives what this world can not and that is: peace with God. That is joy unspeakable and full of glory!

Stephen Hawking’s Greatest Quotes

1. I believe the universe is governed by the laws of science. The laws may have been decreed by God but God does not intervene to break the laws.

2. I think computer viruses should count as life. I think it says something about human nature that the only form of life we have created so far is purely destructive. We’ve created life in our own image.

3. One can’t predict the weather more than a few days in advance.

I like the third one best. Man boasts that he knows what to do about supposed climate change. Stephen pretty well puts that notion to rest.

When Will Christ Return?

In Luke 21 Jesus said that there shall not one stone be left upon the other. The disciples asked when these things would come to pass. It’s interesting to make note of how Jesus answered them. I’m not going to comment on more than the first couple things He said. He starts with a warning to be careful that they’re not deceived. Why? Because many will come in His name, saying I am Christ, that they have heard from God. They represent God. Then Jesus tells them what these false teachers say and that is that the time draweth near; Jesus is coming soon. I think we have to look forward and be aware of the season we live in but apparently false teachers will arise and be very persuading saying that this is the main message for the time we live in. He goes on to say that there will be wars and rumors of war, lots of commotion, and nation will rise against nation, or ethnic group against ethnic group. Certainly these things have always been. Admittedly there is a huge escalation in these things as the world is made smaller by technology. Essentially I believe He is saying and I paraphrase, “if I haven’t been told when I’m returning, what chance do you have of knowing the time of my return?” So what are we supposed to be doing? Work while it is still day (while we still have breath). The harvest is great and the workers are few. Pray that the Lord will send workers into the harvest. We spend so much time talking about when we retire, what we’re going to do, and as Christians it’s all about the return of Christ and going to heaven. However, there’s work to be done and we must be about serving our Savior who gave his life for us. He came to save the lost. We need to find those who are lost and tell them there is a Savior who loves them. I do truly believe that Jesus is coming soon. There is much evidence pointing to that happening soon. But that day comes as a thief in the night. No warning; He’ll just suddenly be here.

Stop the Music

I hardly ever listen to music on the radio. Sometimes I’ll tune in Rush, Hannity, or the local guy if I need to catch up on what the slime bucket leftists are up to. I used to love music, but it’s everywhere I go. Shopping, restaurants, and the recreation center all play non-stop “music”, much of it is just plain annoying. I don’t choose the tunes, the message, or the artist. Somebody in music hell chose it for me. My only solitude is my car and my home. I’m just tired of the world’s crap. I’m guess the older I get the less tolerant I get of everything “they” try to cram down my throat. I should have been this way years ago.
