The Wind and Waves

In Mathew 8:23 is the story of Jesus and his disciples entering a ship. Jesus falls asleep. A great storm arises. The disciples get scared and wake Jesus and accuse him of not caring if they perish. He in turn accuses them of having little faith. Jesus rebukes the wind and the waves and immediately there is calm. The disciples are amazed at what he did and wonder what kind of man he this. They’ve been following him around for awhile. They have seen Jesus heal the sick, cast out demons and yet they still haven’t comprehended who Jesus is.

He is the Son of God; they should have figured that out by now. But are we not the same way. We’ve hung around Jesus long enough. We’ve seen a few things. But do we really understand who He is? He has power over the wind and waves. In the middle of the storms of life we get scared too. But we are in the “boat” with Jesus. It may look like we’re going to perish. If we could only understand that He’s not concerned about the power of the storm, his concern is our faith.

We say we believe but when there is abundant physical evidence that we’re about to perish we feel we’re in trouble. That’s a normal reaction of the flesh.

On the cross Jesus said: “Forgive them Father for they know not what they do.” They didn’t know they were crucifying the Son of the living God. Jesus asked his disciples why they didn’t know who he was. What could Jesus have done to shake them from their unbelief? What can he do to shake us from our unbelief? Jesus wasn’t worried about the storm. He took a nap. If He isn’t worried why should we be?

Without faith it is impossible to please God. Unbelief is sin. He can’t forgive sin that we don’t confess. Pleasing God is the whole ballgame. It’s of most importance to remember who we belong to. The wind obeys him.  We’re supposed to obey Him too. He was given all power. All just simply means all. Can he control the weather? Yes, and everything else in life. So pray and believe. He has been given all power. You can ask for anything in His name. Ask.

Truth For The Boy Scouts

Donald Trump apparently has upset (nothing new there) a few dead beat parents by telling the boy scouts of our once great country the truth. Their country isn’t the great place it should be. Some parents want their children to be naïve tax paying chumps like they are.

Usually young people are served up a dish of wishful platitudes and anecdotal gobbledygook in a blatant attempt to keep them in stupidville. Donald Trump is doing a fine job of shaking this old country up and he encouraged these kids to be what scouts are: honest and trustworthy. Thank God. Thank you God for giving Donald Trump the ability to make the slime rise to the surface and letting our posterity know they have what it takes to make America great again.

From Right To Left

The news media has been biased for a long time. That’s common knowledge but of late is blatantly obvious. We all know the internet has made it possible for some truth to get out. But there is another shift that’s taken place. The east coast (New York) used to be where news was “sourced”. It was the political center of the United States. It was birthed in old school journalism.

The west coast (San Francisco) through technology has made a hostile take over of the news business. The people that run Google, Facebook, and the rest are all leftist globalists. The left coast although of the same political bent as the east isn’t tied to Washington D.C. and is less rooted in tradition and the founding of this country. Indeed, many in California would like to secede from the union so they wouldn’t be dragged down by the rest of the states lack of enthusiasm for Darwinian dogma. The leftist on both sides of the country are of the same elitist holier-than-thou mindset. The difference is easterners are married to the process of government i.e. haggling over the stolen money their legislation brings in. The whole of the west coast from Seattle to Los Angeles considers everything to already have been decided. They won’t haggle. This is why it’s so dangerous to voice your opinion in the Peoples Republic of California, Oregon, and Washington; you just might end up with your head caved in for speaking the truth. California is a dictatorship as is Oregon and Washington.

My wife was born in California and, via Facebook, connects with her old classmates. Many are on the left to be sure but a few are conservative. A few have pulled up roots and left the golden state. They’re almost dumbfounded at how far their dollar goes when they’re outside of Sacramento’s reach. There are less freebies in states that don’t tax you to death but the producers in society don’t benefit from excess taxes anyway.

A third of all Californians are on welfare. California is a great place to be if you’re a taker; not so much if you’re a giver. California attracts those who have little to offer but need everything. The same for the rest of the west coast. These idiots have provided a sanctuary for takers, criminals, and miscreants. Do those terms apply to everyone? No, of course not. But just like jihad types hide in schools and hospitals whilst doing their dirty deeds, so do people of questionable motives that take cover in sanctuary cities.

I don’t believe the leftists on our coast are any smarter than those in England or Europe. When the rape and pillaging overcome them they’ll blame racism and white privilege for the chaos they’ve caused. Indoctrinated people are never wrong. How long this idiocy can go on is impossible to say. But there will be a tech bust at some point; then all those high paying jobs will suddenly be gone and the givers will have to stand in line with the takers.

Right now the boom is on and could last much longer than we think; But eventually judgment falls on corrupt people. Like deplorable types say, you can’t fix stupid.

Apples to Apples

We bring many refugees into our country. The whole of the problem with immigration is letting people in who want to drag their country and ideas with them. Some tradition and approaches to life are, to be sure, going to be a part of the way they live. It’s the reason they came here that matters. Is it for a better life? Isn’t that the only reason to come to America? The problem arises when immigrants want to drag their slavery mentality with them.

Freedom to think, do with your life what you want, and subject yourself to the natural law of God is the only reason for coming to America. This is the problem with the slaves that were brought to these shores. Dragging them from a the slave culture in Africa wasn’t the problem. Rooting them out of their homeland and bringing them here was the problem. Blacks were forced to leave everything they ever knew and settle in a land of white people. Eventually blacks had to adapt to America, ponder the freedom it unequally offered, and decide how to cope with the resentment that permeated their thoughts. Some by “chance” found the gospel of Jesus Christ and the peace that passes understanding. But many were held back by their peers chanting “Uncle Tom” threats and by physical and mental abuse which held most at bay.

Under the yoke of slavery many slaves were not the hardest workers and why should they be? After emancipation they became freemen and demanded more money for their labor beyond what was normally paid. Whites resented their world being turned upside down. Now blacks were free but the resentment remained and it is still a problem today. Blacks were akin to the refugees of today. Refugees of every stripe see the West as the reason they are refugees and this attitude gives them the desire to tear down the country that gives them so much opportunity. Somehow destroying America is the answer (an answer supplied by the left) to right the wrongs of America.

Offered in trade for freedom is the total control of government which can issue rights to these victims. Freedom has become the scape goat of for the ills of society. While offering no examples of success, government control of everything is touted as the only answer. At this writing there is some opposition to globalism. Whether there is a temporary moratorium on stupidity will remain to be seen. Long term we certainly are on a road well traveled.

What The World Needs Now

Nineveh was a city long ago whom God had sent a very reluctant prophet to tell them they needed to repent or face judgment. I look around at the cities in our world and see that they are all on that slippery slope to being like Nineveh; maybe they already are. Lots of good things are done in the name of kindness i.e. feeding the poor and a vast array of social justice programs. Some of these things are all well and good but never solve anything but perhaps a temporary need. The racketeers sell us education as a means to better our collective lot in life and has resulted in an abundance of educated idiots who have been prepped for living the life of a three year old child. Wisdom is what the world needs. The Bible tells us the fear of God is the beginning of wisdom. And to add coal to that fiery thought God informs us that we shouldn’t fear man who can only kill the body, but fear Him because He can throw our body and soul into hell. All we do should be weighed in relationship to our God. Education, altruistic behavior, self-consumed righteousness are nothing; we need God and the provision He has provided to cover our sin. Nothing we do cancels the penalty for sin. What the world needs now is to repent just like Nineveh, succumb to the will of God which is to put Him above all others. He wants to be all we have hope in. It’s just hard for us to believe that God is all we need. I find myself many times like Jonah, not too anxious to tell others of their peril. I’ve got to remind myself that is my main duty to others. The only means to better this world is to bring people to Christ and encourage them to actually follow Him. If the spiritual needs of the world are met, the physical will follow. The only option we have is Jesus Christ. There is no other name, given among men whereby we must be saved; not should be, can be, would be a good idea; no it’s must be.
