Good Men

There are some people who like to be told what to do.  Others, like myself. don’t like it.  I’m referring to the government.  Some trust in the goodness of men, at least in the goodness of those they worship and vote for.  The Bible tells us that there is none that are good, no not one.  They all succumb to the lusts of their flesh.  Anyone can become a tyrant no matter their political bent.  Power corrupts the morals and the judgment of people.  That is why the framers of our constitution tried to limit the power of the federal government.  Government exists for the pure purpose of exerting power over people who have done nothing wrong.

We have some good legislators no doubt and some try to do the “right” thing.  The problem is the definition of the right thing.  Many feel the mob should be able to dictate the “rules” we live by.  The mob has been created by the notion that the United States is a democracy and therefore 51% can decide what the 49% have to do.  The United States was supposed to be a republic thereby making it difficult for easily fooled blockheads to take control and destroy the nation.  This country was supposed to be different.  It’s not anymore.

It’s important to remember the main reason someone runs for re-election.  It’s for power; they want to change things.  Do things need changing?  Of course, that is if you were to return to the restraints of the constitution.  People like to have power over other people and their money.  I don’t trust other people with my money or my future and neither should you.  I don’t believe in the goodness of man.  Let God be good and every man a liar.

PHD vs Landscaper

Landscapers or you could say, common laborers, I identify with.  I spent much of my life doing common labor.  Back when my kids were younger we had to deal with the school bully.   The superintendent of schools was a Ph.D., that is to say, an over-educated, condescending, holier-than-thou leftist.  In short, we weren’t allowed to tell the bully it’s wrong to steal or hurt someone because we couldn’t impose our value system on a child.  So they gave the future leftist thug his own teacher as they didn’t want to return him to the hostile environment of the classroom.  This drivel needless to say left the landscaper and his wife kind of in shock.  We were unaware the school system was so far down the path to lunacy.  The common man, not living in an ivory tower, is connected to common sense and has not much interest in pie-in-the-sky theories.

It’s we peons that have to deal with the dictates of arrogant idiots.  The sheriff in our county said that nine times out of ten kids that brought guns to school did so for self-protection.  No matter what these schools say or how many little signs they put up, it won’t stop the violence.  They cater to the bully.  Evolutionary ethics produce little reason for civility.

A friend of mine was just fired from his job.  He worked at a facility which cared for old people.  The leftist idiots even control elder care.  There was a no-restraint policy in place at the facility.  My friend heard the cry for help from the nurses that were being accosted by one of the patients.  He went over and held the guy till he promised to settle down.  For this, he was immediately fired.  When he asked what the director would have done, she didn’t know, but policy is policy.

My neighbor told me a similar story.  She worked at a facility in Ohio.  The patients didn’t have any rules, could hit (actually beat up) their care-takers, and they also had a no restraint policy.  The state, of course, bought a restraint system and everyone was taught how to use it, but then were not allowed to use it; policy is policy.

We little people are being manipulated by the self-righteous.  The reason none of it changes is that everyone loves the taxpayer-paid-for babysitter.  Violence begets violence.

I wish people knew ten percent of what I know; maybe, just maybe something would change.  I hope you understand just a little of my disdain and lack of respect for the left.  They’ve ruined America; they’ve ruined your children’s future.

Platoon Schools

John Dewey, brilliant Marxist and a great example of progressive idiocy, designed the indoctrination, big box schools we have today.  Grouping kids together according to age broke down the necessary mingling that occurred in one room school houses of the past.  Kids of the same age are in continual competition with each other whether it be in sports, studies, or sex.  When all your time is spent without obligation to interact with children other than your own age, tensions build.  Removing the moral restraints of religious thought further escalated the issues we have today, mainly violence in schools.

The left want guns out of schools.  That’s a “nice” thought.  If guns were the problem I’d be all for it.  Lack of morals is the problem.  If guns were removed, those with an ax to grind would turn to bombs.  The Oklahoma City bomb was made from material readily available to anyone.  With or without gun removal, bombs are the next logical step in the evolution of school violence.  Platoon schools are military schools.  The plan probably was to let things degenerate to the point that parents will demand absolute control of everyone.

We the deplorable must get ready for the days of Noah.

Deliverance

When I was a young man I thought that I was a decent human being.  The Bible says there is none good, no not one.  That truth has become a settled matter in my mind.  I am a sinner and I need a savior.

Each one of us grows up with different experiences and much of who we are comes from our background.  My dad would tell of the things he experienced and it wasn’t till later in life I appreciated who he was and understood a little of what made him tick.  Childhood abuse, leaving school in the third grade because of threatened abuse, being forced to join the union with a gun to his head, these are things that shaped the way he responded to his world.  He was hard to know in an intimate way.  Though he had much to be angry about, he never got angry.  I wish I could say the same thing.

We all suffer from the weakness of the flesh.  As men, we all suffer from the bondage of sex.  Sex is a relentless master and makes men do the most wicked things.  I’ve heard it preached from the pulpit that sex is this wonderful thing and admittedly it is pleasurable but it is a selfish act and much of it is for the self.

So my father, like all men, had this desire for sex.  He was popular with the girls and they would call him even after he was married.  His relationship with God made him a faithful husband, but my mom in frustration told him she thought the only reason he married her was for sex.  Certainly, it was somewhat true.  They had nine children (six 9f them lived).  He fathered his last child at fifty-six years old.  Men get lonely but they need sex.

We all have differing degrees of sinfulness but we are all sinners.  None of us escape being a slave to lust.  Sin doesn’t always appear to be as nasty as it is.  My wife was at the hospital before her dad died.  The cry of his heart was: “God, deliver me from this wicked body”.  Now that I’m older I too just want to be delivered from this body.  My weakness overwhelms me many times; my need for a savior is self-evident.  I need Jesus Christ.

My dad was born on May 5, 1903; happy birthday dad!  He’s been gone eighteen years.  Knowing what I know now makes me more understanding of him and others.  I just wish he were here to talk with one more time.

King Rehoboam

2nd Chronicles Chapter 12 talks about the reign of Rehoboam.  In verse 13 it notes that his mother was an Ammonite.  Often times the Bible makes an unelaborated comment and says something that maybe we tend to gloss over.  Kings usually had many wives, and those wives weren’t always from Israel.  Her name, Namaa, means beautiful or good looking.  I’m sure she was typical of what kings chose for their wives.  Just like men today, most times they look at the package and not the contents.  These wives had children and just like today, women have much to say about what her children learn and believe.  She molded Rehoboam into the man he would become.

The Ammonites god was Milcom or Molech.  Child and or human sacrifice is to this day attributed to Molech.  Child mortality was high so the sacrifice of a child would be the ultimate thing you could give to your god.  Unlike abortion today which is done for the pleasure of the woman, back then it was for the pleasure of their god.  It would stand to reason that she was devoted to her god and passed on these twisted views to her children.

The text notes that Rehoboam strengthened himself in Jeruselum, the city which God chose for His own.  His failed leadership can be traced to this one thing.  He built himself up and didn’t humble himself and wait for God to raise him up.  This arrogance led to verse 14 where we find that he did evil because he prepared not his heart to seek the Lord.  Greatness comes from seeking God and not from seeking personal success.  I guess we all know that but speaking for myself, a good share of my life has been spent believing that if it’s going to be, it’s up to me.

I’m at the threshold of my seventies; I’m leaving all the rest up to God.
