An Angry God

1st Samuel 15:3 Now go and smite Amalek, and utterly destroy all that they have, and spare them not, but slay both man and woman, infant and suckling, ox and sheep, camel and ass.

The Amalekites attacked Israel on their way to the promised land. They were a relentless enemy and God had enough of it. It was time to get rid of them so they couldn’t rise again.

Psalm 7:11 God judgeth the righteous, and God is angry with the wicked every day.

We like to think of God as loving, kind, long-suffering, an all around “nice guy”. We tend to ignore the angry God, the one who is unflinching in his demand for obedience. It doesn’t cross our mind that men are the enemies of God. We are sinners and don’t have any idea how offensive our lives are to God.

It’s hard to grasp who God is. He says his ways are not our ways, his thoughts are not our thoughts. Who is this God that commands Israel to commit genocide, every man, woman, child and even the babies. In our manicured understanding of God it’s unthinkable that this would be what God commanded. We wouldn’t do any of those things today. Can you imagine being ordered to kill children? That was an ugly scene! What kind of God do we worship?

The problem is we don’t understand what sin is, how vile it is and that anyone giving it a pass is an affront to God. The Bible says the fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge. Modern man has increased his knowledge a thousand fold but he forgot to start with fear.

Understanding the difference between good and evil is in the business of God not mortal man. Men come and men go and not a trace is left of them. God remains always the same. We read God’s Word and hide it in our heart so we don’t sin against him. At least that’s what we should be doing.

Psalm 76:7 Thou, even thou, art to be feared: and who may stand in thy sight when once thou art angry? Hebrews 10:31 It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.

Amalekites were disposable worthless people in God’s eyes; they were the world. Extermination without mercy. So many can’t serve a God like that. That’s the problem we have with God. He can have a baby killed, we can’t! But I think we have to look at what the Amalekites were doing which is trying to stop God’s chosen people from making it to the promised land or dwelling in it peacefully. They were enemies of God’s people. They brought up their children to hate God’s people. Sound familiar?

God took all his anger out on Christ. Every sin was dealt with on the cross. Jesus paid it all isn’t just a song. God’s anger is over with, no more killing Amalekites. He gave us Jesus to model what faith and obedience looks like. Now the ball is in Jesus’s court. He degraded himself by permanently taking on human flesh. He may not have sinned but he was tempted daily. He won’t be happy with people who reject his sacrifice. He’s a lot like his father.

The recipe for pleasing God is simple, faith and obedience; they feed off each other. We’re all in God’s hands but we must choose what kind of hands they are.

Joey’s VP

Some think that Joe should have picked Hillary for VP. If Joe had picked Hillary he’d be dead by now. The position of VP is, like everything else in the Democratic Party, symbolic. Joe announces “I’m picking a black woman” and so he did. She was not popular, she tore Biden apart at the debates, so she wasn’t chosen as a great working partner. Joe hit two essential demographics, blacks and women, neither of which are very particular about merit or character.

This is why Obama picked Joe as his VP. He needed someone to identify with the old bigoted part of the Democratic Party. Joe is a shrewd but hapless white man whose gaffes keep constituents entertained whilst Obama tried his best to fundamentally change the country.

The parties pick the president except in the case of Donald Trump. Jeb was the anointed one, given tons of cash and without the intervention of Trump would have extended the Bush legacy of war.

Notice that Bernie has been cheated twice because Joe was the one the party wanted. Furthermore, Joe didn’t need to hardly campaign as the fix was in. If you think your vote counts, think again. The only reason Trump got in is because the Republican and Democratic establishment were over confident as they depended on poll numbers predicting the outcome.

It won’t happen again. I think it was Stalin that said, it doesn’t matter who votes, it matters who counts them.

Roger Waters and Zuccy

Quotes from an article in Summit News by Steve Watson concerning Facebook offering Water big bucks to use his song to promote tyranny.

Speaking at an event to raise awareness about imprisoned WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange, Waters noted the deep deep irony of Facebook wanting to buy and use a song that rails against ‘thought control’ and mindless conformity.

Waters described the development as part of Zuckerberg’s “insidious movement… to take over absolutely everything.”

“And yet, they want to use it to make Facebook and Instagram more powerful than it already is,” Waters urged, adding “so that it can continue to censor all of us in this room and prevent this story about Julian Assange getting out into the general public so the general public can go, ‘What? No. No More.’”

You would know for sure that we had descended into dystopian hell if this song was ever approved for promoting shiny Instagram graphics, urging kids to sign up to liquify their brains and act like every other insta-zombie uploading 4 million selfies every second:

Facebook, Google, Twitter and the rest control our lives and wrestling with them for our freedom won’t be easy. They’re very talented at making our slavery look to be in our best interests.

Flag Day

June 14 is Flag Day. It’s also President Trump’s birthday and it’s my birthday. I lived in a small town in North Dakota as a small boy. On my birthday there was a parade in town. Pretty cool, all those flags waving for me.

Flag Day has just become another day. Memorial Day, July 4th, Veterans Day, Columbus Day; not too many think they’re special. Most don’t even know what they’re about. I was lucky enough to be born on one of those days. Flag Day is special, it’s my birthday, and it’s the day the greatest president of these United States was born.

1952 was a special time to be a little boy, a time when flags waving brought excitement to a child and everything was right in the world.

Father’s Day

I was lucky to have a father. Back then most people had fathers, I mean fathers is the home. Today fathers like mothers are at best some kind of subhuman class, a throwback to an ancient era riff with wrong practices which merit discarding. Such is the time we live in. Let’s take a quick look at the result of bondage to a staple of post-modern thought.

Stats, we all love stats, polls because they help us determine if we’re winning or losing in the pursuit of our convictions. On my side of the issue at hand, we’ve been on the decline for years and still we ignore the ramifications of our sin. Ninety five percent of homeless and runaway children are from fatherless homes. Kids with behavior problems-85%, teenage pregnancy-71%, high school dropout-71%, 63% of youth suicides and 85% of youths in prison come from fatherless homes. Today we see the results of the demise of fatherhood.

Much is said of the difficulty of the single mom in raising her kids. Nothing is ever said about the need to promote the need to start families with a dedication to the tasks of fathering and mothering and the need to keep those roles concise. I’ve noticed I’m a lot like my father and I wonder what I would be like if I had none. I’d probably be like the bulk of men in our society who mimic the attitude of the modern mother. Everything is about me. I have one life and I’ll waste in a way I see fit. Parenting is deemed foolish at best by our younger generation. I’m hoping the lightbulb flicks on and the necessity of the family becomes in style again.

Fathers, like mothers, need encouragement. They don’t need us or the state to micromanage their parenting lives. Pre-marriage and parenting classes should be the norm and those of us who have opportunity, have an open discussion of parenting.

And to put icing on the cake, stop electing politicians who continually push programs that destroy the nuclear family. But it is the local school boards that drive much of this family hatred and it is those meetings we must attend in droves if we are to have meaningful change.

I’m glad I’m a father, married to the mother of my children for forty-two years. I’m so glad I’m not that worthless young man I was at twenty-two.

The war on marriage, fathers, and children must be stopped at all costs. I don’t like the stats mentioned above. They spell the demise of a country. If we truly care we must wake up and speak against the reality of nonsense which is bent on consuming us.
