Elizabeth Gutfahr, Santa Cruz County treasurer, 2014-2024, embezzled $38,000,000 during her tenure. Santa Cruz is a county with less than 47,000 people. My question is, how can someone steal almost four million dollars a year and nobody is the wiser?
I’m guessing the new treasurer looked at the books and caught the swindle. She bought over twenty vehicles, made lavish improvements to her ranches, (ranches?), and helped her family out when needed. Didn’t anyone notice the new cars? All governments cry about lack of money, so why didn’t a small community’s local government notice the shortfall? Could it be that there’s more to this story? I would think so but I have a feeling if there is some bribery going on, the other crooks accepted cash only and probably were a little more discreet.
Now just imagine a big county or a state, or our country. Could it be that Vivek and Elon will discover so much corruption that the whole nation will come to its senses and stop funding the cabal that’s destroying us? We can only hope.
