Lions

The left are becoming totally unhinged which equates to dangerous. They’re all upset and on the verge of killing the dentist who killed an old lion. I understand lions are endangered but this old boy was at deaths door. I submit the people so passionately consumed with this story are cowards and with out compassion. Think of the babies butchered in the sordid act of abortion and then having there usable “parts” sold for research. Or how about the thousands of children that will die today from malnutrition and disease. These loud-mouthed obnoxious cowards raise not a dime or a hand to fight human trafficking. Leftists are a cold-hearted bunch and annoyed that anyone would dare voice opposition to them. They are wicked; they enjoy their wickedness and they want everyone else to ignore their evil behavior. I won’t. I’ll call a spade a spade. I call evil for what it is: evil.

Love

Love is defined in first Corinthians 13 and characterizes how God deals with His creation. I like to think of love as the action of doing the right thing. We have to refer to God for knowing the right thing although according to Romans it is woven into the fabric of our minds and we are without excuse if we don’t do the right thing. Reading scripture daily should galvanize our resolve to do the unselfish and right thing. As an example, the ten commandments tell us to honor our father and mother. We all know that some mothers and fathers aren’t worth honoring. But we are told to do it and in doing so we honor the role of a parent. Just because a parent was a louse doesn’t give us license to abandon the idea that parenting is important. The family should be protected from the assault of naysayers who want to justify the elimination of the parenting authority. They would have it turned over to the state. I’m not sure the nuclear family will withstand the destruction of moral foundations which the progressives have thrust upon society. It is way past time that “good” people stood up for what is right and loving and stop bowing to the whims and waywardness of the leftist.

Richard Maybury

I’ve been a subscriber to EWR for three plus years. He offers a historical view of current events and I believe you would benefit greatly from his insight. As a Christian I see what’s unfolding differently but he is very well read and his advise is most valuable. He changed my thinking on several fronts because I was biased out of ignorance. This being the age of deception I want to make sure I’m not one of those deceived. I encourage you to subscribe.

No Twinkies Served Here

Someone once said that “all men are created equal” and are bestowed by their Creator with certain inalienable rights or life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. In the wisdom of our progressive elite and their millions of minions, equal means the perpetrator is just as valuable as the victim; at least that was the interim situation. Now the murderer has more rights than the unborn, the liars are mocked while the ethical are harassed, the slothful and undependable are to share in the wealth of the hard worker. The government welfare machine has made us all equally worthless. No matter who you are or what you do, we all are dependent on the government, for their regulations taint every aspect of our lives. It controls our money and therefore controls what we will stand up for. That’s why so few stand against this immoral generation. We are on the verge of economic collapse stemming from the moral relativism of our society. To think we shall somehow escape the consequences of rejecting the good and applauding the evil is beyond foolish.

Arizona

Eighteen months ago we sold our home in the north country and drove our motorhome to Arizona via California. After six months we bought a home in Sun City, a retirement community. Of course we miss our family and friends and have traveled back for a month long visit but we have fast acclimated to desert living. My wife spent a week in Boise which solidified her reason for moving here. We do have family here and that is a big bonus. However I believe it pays to follow the society trends and people are moving south. The disintegration of the nuclear family has softened the bonds holding people in the locale where they were born or raised. My wife and I (like most of the old generation) have outlived our usefulness. As living costs are reasonable here and the weather and one level living
make being older easier to contend with, it made sense to be where we could accommodate our needs and yet afford to travel a couple times a year to visit those we left behind. The trade-off is a less than desirable relationship with our children and grandchildren. But it was years before I fully appreciated what my parents had been through and what they had done for me. My parents were a great blessing to myself and my siblings. My wife and I did what we could but not necessarily what we should. We’re not looking to be remembered well. We’re just hoping that after all is said and done they’ll understand a little more and realize it’s not as easy as it would seem at the onset of it all. If I’d known how difficult it was to be a good parent I wouldn’t have taken the responsibility on. I didn’t intend to fail. Maybe starting over at sixty five in Arizona is silly. But like the song says, sunshine on my shoulder make me happy; sunshine almost always makes me cry.
