The End Of The World

Over the years I’ve heard much preaching about the end of the world, the return of Jesus Christ and the millennial kingdom. We do know by certain things that we are “near” the end. Jesus said he didn’t know the day or the hour and we wouldn’t either. What’s important is knowing that our end will come and we will give account for the life we have led. We’re supposed to be working when he returns, not waiting.

When I worked, at first a job and then for myself, I paid no attention to time. Oh, I would arrive on time but my workday didn’t revolve around taking breaks and going home. I had work to do. I remember telling my fellow workers that my favorite day was Monday because there were so many things from Friday left undone. That was crazy talk. I wasn’t a workaholic, I just didn’t like to leave things unfinished. It’s unfortunate that attitude didn’t apply to my personal life. Looking back, there are things I should have done. And now much of it is undoable. All I can do now is warn the young about what’s coming. What’s coming? Their end, the time when there will be no more time, no more chances to make it right.

The other part I didn’t realize is the hardening that takes place in your heart, the way you deal with everything and everyone. It’s very hard to accomplish something you’ve put off for decades. The people around you are conditioned to facilitate your lack of effort and resolve. We make each other comfortable.

I’ve known for quite some time how the world is going to go. There is a reason Jesus wondered if there would be any faith before he returns. Opening the box of worms concerning the future is of no importance. In these latter years, I can only serve as a watchman on the wall and report what I see. By His word, God has made it plain what to look for.

The most important thing for me to tell you or anyone else I love is this: Only one life, will soon be past, only what’s done for Christ will last. Today is the day; you may not have tomorrow. There is work to be done.

The Valley of Decision

For years followers of Jesus Christ have been praying to God, praying that they would be free to worship Him, thousands upon thousands around the world, thousands in North Korea. God has heard their prayers.
We’ve had soft-spoken, wimpy leaders who are unable to stand for what is right in the eyes of God. We now have a man in the highest office of the land with the backbone, to tell the truth. Men should worship God and not the government. In North Korea, you must worship the government. Kim Jung Un is a god; you must obey him. Around the world, people suffer the edicts of ungodly men. Donald J. Trump says no. In front of the whole world and to the embarrassment of much of the “swamp”; he boldly says what others don’t dare. There is a right and there is a wrong. Like Eve, we believe we can know the difference between the two. That simply isn’t so.

Choose this day whom you will serve. Will you serve God or will you serve the government? Do your blessings come from the government or do they come from God? Our lives are filled with choices. Those choices form our habits. We make a habit of how we serve or don’t serve God. We have our routines, we do things our way; we assume as long as we’re doing “good” things, we must be doing the right thing. It’s either a life of faith or a life of works; it should be both.

We should fear God and not the government. Choose leaders who don’t accommodate your sin and don’t applaud the killing of children.

We make our choices, so many choices, a lifetime of choices; we’re continually in the valley of decision.

Death’s Door

If you’re privileged to live to an old age, the aging “process” becomes an ever-burdening obstacle to enjoying life. I’m past seventy now and I’ve noticed the inconvenient little physical problems of my body are escalating in strength. I know death will happen at some point but it seems to be nibbling away at life, taking bigger bites all the time.

I’ve played guitar my whole life; I’m not good but it’s something I enjoy. I’ve written this blog for five years now and it too is important to me. I’ve had a tremor in my hand ever since I was a kid. Then it was hardly noticeable but over time it has become a stumbling block to getting the simplest of things done. Plucking strings on the guitar, typing on the keyboard, using a screwdriver are becoming difficult. Even turning the microwave on is irritating as my finger will touch the pad twice making me redo the motion to get the desired result.

I could mention my back but enumerating my growing physical problems isn’t the reason I mention these things. Our tendency in life is to put off the things that are important. I was going to post my music to youtube, write a book, do some digital evangelizing; good things, but my body doesn’t cooperate like it used to. So if death hasn’t eaten too much of your ability, do things now, today, don’t put it off for another hour. As scripture says work while there is still day. The night comes when you can’t work. Death is coming a little at a time. Don’t waste it. Say you’re sorry now, forgive those who wronged you now, pray now, work now, praise God now. Nobody in the grave does anything. What’s done is done and what wasn’t done will never happen.

Environmental Terrorists

The government-funded climate-change fanaticism is now legitimately being questioned. It was, after all, the greatest tax collecting scam the governments of the world ever devised. The Inconvenient Truth of Al Gore is now exposed as a very Convenient Lie. Al Gore has certainly profited from this hoax.

We should note that Al Gore and the rest of those drunk on climate-change haven’t stopped flying in personal jets or riding to events in big, gas-hungry vehicles. Nor have they sold their mansions on the coast; go figure.

Dr. Grady McMurtry effectively dismantles the climate-change hysterical claims of the Environment Terrorist crowd. You can find the truth on his website: https://www.creationworldview.org/articles_view.asp?id=67
The article is long but well worth the read. It takes much reading to undo what the government schools and media have done to us.

A word of warning: Grady McMurtry is a creation scientist. Delving too deeply into his website may lead you to question your long-held beliefs.

We Are Slaves

So much is made of the slave history of the United States. Slavery, although abolished many moons ago, continues to this day. Slavery is defined as either owning someone and their service or placing someone in a position where they are not rewarded in proper remuneration for their work.

Tax Freedom Day this year is April 19. It does vary a little state to state but 29% of your pay goes to the government where incompetent politicians spend it. Of course, they can’t get enough from us so they borrow, borrow, and borrow some more. For this “service” they are well rewarded.

We are slaves. We may not want to admit it and most won’t think of it this way. Those who pay no taxes certainly don’t; they’re not slaves. We are chumps. Politicians steal almost a third of our money and we just quiver in our boots if we don’t pay enough to these leeches.

We’re so busy fussing over nothing burgers. Politicians like that. They supply the condiments and we just keep bowing to the tax god and we just pay and pay and pay. We’ve made that three-fifths compromise with our personal worth; we’ve devalued ourselves, we are just slaves to the state.
