The Dirty Word
What is the dirty word most people hate? No, it’s none of those words we think of as dirty. There are those that love this dirty word; people that run a successful business or household or any other prosperous endeavor. But for most and especially those in politics, it’s a dirty word. It’s an insult to the integrity and intelligence. BUDGET, There, I said it, without apology. Business people who love this word do well. Couples who come up with a budget are better off in their later years. If governments kept to their budget, well that’s not going to happen. It’s too fun spending money on credit,
I would wish I could say I did this myself but alas it is not so. In fact to this day it hasn’t happened. It has seemed impossible to agree on the importance of a budget without inferring lack of trust or intelligence. This applies double in government. There are many qualified people in service to our country but a scant few who are able to reign in spending. So can one really expect more out of a spouse or business partner? Probably not. I think there are things one has to understand from an early age; you either have it or you don’t. Alas, our predicament. So hoping for a sudden change is only wishful thinking. The sky must fall and we must be ready to pick up the pieces.
